My One Word: Focus
For years I have lived with good intentions. I’ve made promises to myself and others. I’ve juggled priorities for work, my family, and others. I have accomplished a lot and truly excelled at nothing. I find myself questioning, have I accomplished what God has called me to do? At this point in my life, have I arrived at the destination He has called me to? I’ve brought Him along for my walk instead of following on His. I’ve found myself wondering and wandering, what next, what now? At times all of my priorities are completely overwhelming and I am pulled in a million directions. So as I cried out to God for direction and clarity, my word was revealed… FOCUS.
Focus means so many things, but for this year for me it means to stop to see everything through His lens. Colossians 3:2 reminds us to set our eyes on the things above, and not on Earthly things. I know that as I FOCUS on Him and His plan my path will become clear. As I accomplish what He has called me to do, my worth will be found in Him. As I spend more time in His word, I will truly see myself and my heart for the condition it is truly in. As I FOCUS on Him, everything else will come into perspective. It is going to be a great year! .
