Being selfish is something I’m sure we all struggle with. I, however, am not a person who is naturally in tune with emotions and so I believe I am slightly more selfish than the average bear.

Naturally I don’t want to be this way, and many have encouraged me throughout my life to change this trait including my mother and my best friend and ex-husband, AJ. I was trying to choose between Selfless and Humble as my word for this year. Then, when AJ died unexpectedly a few months ago, I decided to go with Selfless, in memory of him.
