I am not the man I once was, neither am I the man I may yet become…I am a work in progress! And in the progress, I will seek to be “selfless” this year; to consider the needs of others. To empty myself and be filled with God’s Spirit of love and truth and peace and joy. As a quiet man (of hope), I will seek to say “I” far less this year and to ask more questions of others. Honest questions that afford others the opportunity to express themselves. In confidence I will listen more than speak and seek to allow the Lord to love others through me. This starts at home…but encompasses all aspects of my life. I am learning that I do not need to have the last word…indeed, I do not need to have a word at all. I am a selfish person; this year, I will focus on being a selfless person.
