My One Word: Complete
I resisted my word for a few weeks before accepting it. I didn’t want to do it. But, God kept nudging me. Finally, when I told my sister about this, she pushed me and said, “It’s your word. Are you going to listen and grow this year, or not?”
So, “complete” it is. Complete is both an adjective and a verb. It is both an action and a state of being. I am not enough on my own. God is shaping me to become mature and complete through perseverance and reliance on him (James1:2-4). I am complete when I am in Christ. “People with their minds set on you, you keep completely whole.” (Isaiah 26:3 – the Message).
And he’s calling me to action, and not just starting things, but seeing them through. (Something I struggle with!) “See to it that you complete the work/ministry you have received in the Lord.” (Colossians 4:17). I see this as a call to prioritize and finish God’s work first even if that means letting go of other things.
So, I am complete in Christ who continues to grow me and strengthen me to complete the work he has given me.
