My One Word: Attentive
In recent years (but not in a couple of years) toward the end of the year, I had a practice of asking God to reveal to me what “virtue” He wanted to do in me over the next year–instead of a New Year’s Resolution. But these past two years, I did not do that. Then recently my sister asked me if I’d heard of My One Word. As it very much reminded me of how God had done some incredible things in my life in those “virtue” years, I was intrigued. After I began reading the book and recording some thoughts based on the prompts, I realized that I am about to experience some things that could just fly by without proper attention. I will be going to Israel for a once-in-a-Iifetime trip soon. I have a little girl entering kindergarten in the fall. And summer is always very busy in my world. In this time to come, I believe God wants to show me some good things. I don’t want to miss it! He is calling me to be attentive.
