My One Word: Be
From: tessiedawn
For so many years, my life has been about doing more, doing better. If my mentor and my therapist have said it once, they’ve said it 50 times – “you are a human being, not a human doing.” So this year I pray that I can release some of the patterns of perfectionism and learn to be myself, to be real – with both God and my fellow human beings – and to just enjoy where I am in life. To let go of grasping for the next thing, the next “best” thing, the next level in the game. To really enjoy the journey and revel in the fact that the God of all creation is in a relationship with me. He talks with me. He loves me. That is where I want to be.
