My One Word: Still (Psalm 46:10)
I am a co-pastor and I have the tendency to do, do, and do because of the much work that needs to be done in ministry. In the past as co- pastor, I was emotionally overwhelmed because I didn’t always get the expected results of my labor; thus, being disappointed time and time again. Additionally, I had the tendency to step into my husband’s role as lead pastor only to see I was trying to carry weight that only God can carry. With all my human efforts, my ingenuity, creative ideas– we tried to grow our church, fulfill the vision, and see the things that God has promised come to fruition. Last year, I decided that I was tired of striving, being on an emotional roller-coaster, and trying to make something happen with my good intentions and labor. Therefore, I decided to rest and be still in God! After receiving the book as a gift, I started reading it on January 4 2014. Psalm 46:10 sums up what I need to not do but be. “Be STILL and know that I AM GOD”!!! Looking forward to the one year journey of Being Still!
