My One Word: Diligent
I am 42 years old and found out in 2013 I have ADD (Attention Deficit Disorder) . As a result my life have been and inconsistent mix of great success and inaction. I have always been a great starter and not such a great finisher. Whether it is my quiet time, work, ministry, or family life I struggled to “follow through”.
As I prayed and sought God’s guidance I prayed over a number of words including “consistent”. One morning God led me to this great word, “diligent”. Broader and deeper than just “consistent”, “diligent” will invite God to work and change areas of my life beyond where I have invited Him before.
There are many verses that deal with “diligent”, but I chose to start by meditating on Romans 12:11, “Do not lack diligence; be fervent in spirit; serve the Lord.”
