My One Word: Invest
I chose this word because I want to put my energy into daily choices that will help me build the life I want and become the person I want to be. I want to invest in my students by pointing them toward opportunities, resources, and experiences they may never encounter otherwise. I want to invest in my work by chipping away at tasks each day rather than getting behind and trying to do too much at once. I want to invest in my family by dancing, playing, reading, and creating with my husband and son. I want to invest in myself by reading, writing, and absorbing beauty, even if I only have a little time. I tend to get exhausted and overwhelmed and starve myself spiritually, mentally, and emotionally without realizing it. I can live a full and vibrant life if I keep investing just a little at a time.
