CEDE means more than just surrender or give up. It connotes the giving of someTHING. 1 Peter 1:7 says, “Cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you.” As I studied this verse and the ones around it, I noticed v 6. “Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand, that He may lift you up in due time.” I need to give more than my fears and worries to Him. I need to give Him my talents, gifts, time, and worship. His hand is perfectly capable of taking care of me and the rest of the world if I just CEDE everything to Him.
