My One Word: Duplicity
Duplicity, as in Double-Mindedness. The Bible says we cannot serve two masters. Proverbs 11:3 states “The integrity of the upright guides them, but the unfaithful are destroyed by their duplicity.” In certain areas of my life I face the dilemma of wanting desperately to do God’s Will, but I also desperately want to do my will, which is in conflict with God. This creates inner struggle, confusion, and it doesn’t allow God to work in me and give me the blessings He wants to give to restore peace of mind. This double-mindedness leads to spinning my wheels, hindering my spiritual growth. It’s spiritual schizophrenia. Keeping me in bondage to Satan. The opposite of duplicity is being of single-mind, having unity with the mind of Christ and His perfect Will. I want the constancy, the consistency, the loyalty and faithfulness that comes with being single-minded. Good bye to the lack of peace derived from duplicity..
