My One Word: Diligent
I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me, but what I lack is diligence. I know, but I don’t apply. I have the tools, but I don’t follow through.
I endeavored to do Nanowrimo this past November. This project, which is to write a 50K word novel during the month of November regardless of the holidays, is what opened my eyes. This project requires due diligence on a daily basis to finish on time. I made it to 42K words on the last day. I had guests over my home for a week, holidays to prep, and I still managed to get in 42K words. I didn’t hit the goal, but I got darn close. It was exhilirating.
This opened my eyes to the need of diligence in my life to get a great many things accomplished. God has given me the tools, he’s showed me me that, but I need to take due diligence to use them on a daily basis if I want to see the benefits whether it be fitness, creativity, or God time.
Diligence is my word for 2013.
