My One Word: truth
I want to know the Truth in all things. To not be led by my emotions (raw as they are) but to be driven, motivated, informed, by God’s truth. Holy. Pure. Blameless.
My verse that will go with this word is Phillipians 4:8
Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things.
The reason I am attempting to go with this word is because, simply put, my thought-life is out of control. I want to think about whatever is TRUE (noble, right, pure, lovely, admirable, excellent, praiseworthy). Those things. That’s what I want my mind to rest on during my morning coffee, during naptime, meal-planning, blogging, running errands, working. Truth. I want it to permeate my very-being.
Another aspect of truth, for me, is KNOWING God’s truth, that is, memorizing, placing verses all around me, in my kitchen, car, bedroom, on my desk, laptop, in my living room. I want to know Truth.
