My One Word: Love
“We love each other because He loved us first.” 1 John 4:19
In 2014, I felt happy. And I was. But, I was also letting bitterness stain my heart. At the end of 2014, I found myself constantly repeating the phrase “Love like He loves” to myself in times when I wanted to the opposite of love another person. When I came across the One Word challenge, I meditated on it a lot, unsure if I wanted to choose love as my word. While sitting in church today, our sermon was over adding significance to our lives which can only be done if we love God and love each other.
In 2015, I will focus on love. Loving God, loving others and loving myself like He loves. It’s because He loves us with everything that He has that we have the ability to share that emotion with other people. By loving like He loves in 2015, I will prepare my heart to be loved by an individual and will extend His Love to all those I meet this year. Here’s to a year and a lifetime of loving like He loves!
