I chose the word quiet after listing many words in my journal. I sifted through the words, seeing that many of them related to one another. As my list got shorter, the word quiet kept coming to the front. When I was almost sure this was my word, God confirmed it. I received an email devotional which talked about rest and quiet. I also received an email from a church friend, and the scripture under her signature was “He will quiet you with His love”. I realize that quiet is not just about sound, but about negative messages, technological noise, the visual noise of clutter, and busy schedules. I am anxious to see how God directs me with the word Quiet.
