My One Word: Forward
One of my best friends from high school just died of cancer. Another friend, dear to me, died suddenly at the beginning of this year. I have a son in college and two in high school so I am at the beginning of a new season of parenthood; the season of letting go.
It would be very easy to focus on the past because it is very comfortable and livable. I do not want to be swept along with events and changes and I do not think that is how God intends me to live. In all the grief and sorrow and loneliness, I see God’s Light.
It would be very easy to focus on my age because I see the articles and hear how hard it is to reinvent yourself and to find a decent job. I do not want to be swept along with negative thinking and I do not think that is how God intends for me to think or live. I press on to the High Calling.
I go forward.
