My One Word: organize
I chose “organize” because being a stay at home mom of a 1 & 2 year old and running my own little side business.. I was finding that I spent my days spinning my wheels… dropping one thing to stop the kids from doing this and that, changing diapers, giving the kids food, and by the time nap time rolled around, I was just so lost on what I should be doing that I just sat staring blank at the wall trying to figure out what it was I was doing in the first place…. I realized that my house was in constant disarray.. nothing was in its place and I was just losing hope of things ever being neat again… on the business end, I was forgetting peoples orders, losing things I had made, and my craft room was a complete mess….. financially, bills were everywhere, i didnt know what was coming and going, i just felt helpless…….
so, i started by picking my word one sunday at the leland campus.. it just hit me. hard. “organize” so, I bought my MY ONE WORD ring from Jennifer at Mimi Lu Boutique.. I chose the ring because I am constantly working with my hands and one the computer working with customers…. so I am always looking at my hand. I knew the ring would be a constant reminder of MY ONE WORD… and it really has helped me keep on track.. I look down and say yes. lets do this!
I now have the kids toys somewhat organized, a new bill book that is organized.. and sales slip book to keep track of my orders as well as a box for all receipts and sales and I have done lots of other little odds and ends around the kitchen and the kids rooms that I just never seemed to get around too to help me get organized! I am still working on one of the main reason I chose the word.. which was to organize my day so that I spend more time with my children, reading, learning and teaching them things as well as to create a night routine for them that consists of praying with them and for them everyday and teaching them how to love like Jesus. I’m a work in progress.
