My one word for 2016 is LIVE…the verb…as in *Live in the Moment* and *Live and Let Live.*

I chose this word because much thought and prayer reminded me that the greatest difference I have been able to make in my life personally in the previous year was to focus on living in the moment…the present…not the regret of the past or the fear of the future…just the present moment. And I need to get committed to that all year long.

There are forces in my life working against my joy and peace, trying to shame me, blame me, and lure me away from what I know to be good and from who I want to be as a person.

Rather than walk away physically from my commitments, I am choosing instead to walk away mentally from the darkness and walk toward the light of the present moment.

By focusing in the here and now, I can do what is right in front of me as I seek to be the person God wants me to be and to accomplish the things He has laid on my heart to do.

Come what may, this year, I will LIVE, truly live. Not just exist.
