I am loving this new idea of ditching the New Year’s Resolutions and setting out with a word for the year. 2017 I had the word Joyful. I am excited that I actually followed through and kept my one word all year long. As I wrote monthly reflections I was amazed how fast each month went that led to the year going by so fast. I am bummed that the word joyful didn’t make life perfect like a Norman Rockwell painting yet thankful for the growth and learning and progress I made.
Lessons I learned…
Look for the positive in the situation and others, hard to do but necessary not to spiral
Life isn’t a picture perfect scene
It is easy to say only if ____ would not do “that” I could be more joyful, you can’t let others dictate how you feel.
God uses the One Word as a way to prepare you for what he has in store for you if you really listen to Him.
I need to tie a Bible verse to my One Word, and live that out.
And my biggest learning, is joy isn’t something you make happen, it is something you get when you have a deep relationship with Jesus.
This learning has lead me to my One Word for 2018. I learned it was more a matter of my heart that was off not the things around me. So for 2018 I will be taking better care of my HEART!
Heart Healthy 2018
