I began thinking about and praying for my word for 2013 around November 2012. The first word “Boldness” came to mind–that I may become more bold in sharing about salvation through Jesus Christ.

In late December, the word “Abide” appeared! Abide was everywhere I turned–at worship services, Sunday School, in my devotions, in the Holy Scriptures, on a Christmas gift, on TV, etc.

I will read “Abide in Christ” by Andrew Murray soon. Oh how I desire to Abide in Christ more this year as well as in the years to come!

From what I understand, abiding in Christ means getting to know Christ well enough that I will know how Christ will respond without asking–much like a married couple who know each other who have been married for many years.

“I am the vine, you are the branches; he who abides in Me, and I in him, he bears much fruit; for apart from Me you can do nothing,” Jesus Christ (John 15:5).
