My One Word: declutter
From: Tinah
I feel like Zacchaeus. There’s so much stuff between me and God that I can’t see/feel/be near him because there’s too much stuff in the way. Too much clutter in my home that I don’t find time to be quiet and study my bible. Too much clutter in my body’s temple that I’m too tired to exercise. Too much clutter in my checkbook that I’m not giving goodness to others when it’s due. Too much clutter in my mind that I’m not praising him as often as I should.
Getting rid of the unimportant things and finding proper places for the treasured things is what I’m focusing on this year so I can see past my immediate surroundings and focus on God.
