My One Word: MARGIN
I came across it several times in different material and there was always sort of a bell that went off in my head. I read a man describe the best qualities of his wife and his top one was margin. She had room in her schedule to help others and not be frazzled when things didn’t go perfectly. She had room in her relationships to cover disagreements and wrongs with grace. She had room in her finances to act when she felt called by the Lord to do so. Oh how I long to be that woman! I realized that I felt so stretched to the limit that I was having to “work” God into my life. It was time to take that firmly in hand and start to whittle away at the things that were not pleasing and honoring to God. I needed to create room for Him to work.I needed to give myself room to make mistakes. There is freedom in the open spaces. I don’t need to DO more because he has already given me everything I need. I was not created to be at the center of everything but rather off to the sides so I can look in and be in awe of His amazing work.
