I have always heard you make your own happiness, which is true. However there is something far better than happiness and it comes only from closeness with the Lord and that is joy. God provides lasting joy that will allow you to smile when you feel your world falling apart, true joy that allows you to cling to your faith in times of great trouble. This year I no longer strive to be a happy person but a joyful one. Someone overflowing with joy so much that other people can’t help but see God’s light.
