My One Word: PRAYER
Prayer is one discipline that many of us fail to pursue. The excuses flow, “God already knows,” “I don’t have time,” “I really don’t know how to pray, but asking would be embarrassing,” “What would I even pray for?” “God wouldn’t listen to me.” The truth is that He does hear us, and even says, “Whatever you ask in My name, that will I do, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you ask Me anything in My name, I will do it.” (John 14:13-14) Prayer is a gift from God, a connection to the Most High from anywhere we are. I imagine the difficulty of making sacrifices to God in the old system, but now He has given us the gift of prayer through the sacrifice of Christ. A connection to the Lord through His Spirit. We can repent, praise, thank, petition, and lift up our world concerns.
