My One Word: OBSERVE
After praying for guidance from the Holy Spirit, I had made up a list of possibilities. I had several words that I was focusing on. However, the Spirit had different ideas! I was looking out the window yesterday into a small grove of trees from an office building high above the ground. Everything looked so dead and gloomy. BUT, upon much closer inspection, I saw the ground was alive among the trees! So many small sparrows, and cardinals, and blue jays, and squirrels! I watched a baby squirrel high up in the branches clinging to a few small limbs, afraid to move. I moved to a different spot, and couldn’t see the squirrel any longer, so I moved back to where I was originally. That’s when the word ‘observe’ became my word…..and it wasn’t even on my list! Observe God’s Word, observe all the blessings around me, observe how I affect others, observe where I can help. Not only observe, but look at it from different perspectives, like I did with the squirrel. Thank you, Holy Spirit, for opening my eyes!
