My One Word: Yield
From: Maria H.
I choose “yield” for My One Word in 2015 because I have become self-protective and hesitant rather than generous and confident.
A truly yielded person cooperates with the Holy Spirit to serve, give, go without resentment, confident that they serve God in that moment with that choice. They respond to the command to “Wait” as readily as they will to “Go!” because they’re not driven by their own instincts or sense of obligation. This provides balance and purpose to their activities.
And so, in Jesus’ name I choose to yield even when it’s inconvenient or counter-intuitive.
I’d rather be in His will, than in my comfort zone.
“Many are the plans in a person’s heart, but it is the Lord’s purpose that prevails.” Prov. 19:21
