My One Word: DISCERN
Every year, I select a word that will help direct my life – balance and trust have been the last two. This year – DISCERN. As I move into a new life and ministry in a new state and community, my prayer is that I will discern what God has for me. Not what I desire, but what He desires. In so doing, He will direct me to the ministries, the possible employment, the friendships, the communities that give Him the opportunity to work through me.
“And this is my prayer: that your love may abound more and more in knowledge and depth of insight, so that you may be able to DISCERN what is best and may be pure and blameless for the day of Christ, filled with the fruit of righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ—to the glory and praise of God.” (Philippians 1:9-11)
So – here it is. Hold me accountable. Ask me if I take the time to discern what is best.
