My One Word: Release
Release is my one word for 2013. I wouldn’t consider myself a “worry wart” by nature but I find myself being consumed or worried about things and I try to “fix” them or worry about them without taking it to the Father to let him help me with it even if it is a small thing. I seem to let the little things creep up as if God is not interested in every little detail of my life. I have no problem taking big things to Him but I need to release all things to Him. I am standing in my knowledge that God is sovereign. He never sleeps;he is always on the watch. He loves me and I can release it to him and let him take control of things.
So this year, as things creep up in my mind or the “mind monkeys” as Mike would call them, I am committing to memory and writing this everywhere I am with my one word, RELEASE.
RELEASE
Lamentations 3:22-25
22 Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed,
for his compassions never fail.
23 They are new every morning;
great is your faithfulness.
24 I say to myself, “The Lord is my portion;
therefore I will wait for him.”
25 The Lord is good to those whose hope is in him,
to the one who seeks him;
26 it is good to wait quietly
for the salvation of the Lord.
