December was full of unexpected challenges for me. I was told I had to stop running due to a herniated disk. Three weeks later I was diagnosed with breast cancer. Two days before surgery for the cancer I crushed my leg in a snowmobile accident and developed blood clots which has had me flat down for two weeks so far. I wanted a word of hope and optimism because I am going to need to focus on that for the upcoming year as I go forth with the cancer treatments. I feel staying positive is going to be extremely important on this journey.
