My One Word: LIGHT
“The black moment is the moment when the real message of transformation is going to come. “At the darkest moment comes the light.” We spend a lot of time being scared of fear. I know… that sentence is a bit of a mind boggle. Bear with me.
Instead of being afraid of it, what if we could re-frame our understanding of what fear means to us?
What if, instead of rejecting fear as ‘negative’, we learned to embrace it as a part of our growth?
When we are in times of fear or pain our true characters confront us, our determination shows up, which may have been hiding away for years. Our kindness kicks in too and we tend to reach out to others more when we are feeling frightened. Our self-preservation is tested; we learn to become resilient and brave. All of these positive things come from fear, aspects of our character that are beautiful. And yet they may not show up nearly as often if fear didn’t activate them.
