My One Word: POSITIVE
Several years ago on vacation, my mom helped return a little lost boy to his parents. After they thanked her, their first questions was “you are a Christian, aren’t you?”
I remember thinking how Amazing that was. My mom’s spirit, her compassion and her faith were as visible in that moment as her physical appearance.
In the past few years, my light has not been evident to my co-workers or even my closest friends. This year, my word is POSITIVE. One baby step to becoming the woman I want to be. One word that shall be my lens for 2014. I vow to look for the positive qualities in others and to be a more positive influence on those around me (and more positive to me….after all, I am God’s precious creation “in his own image”)
POSITIVE in – Phil. 4:8 — Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable – if anything is excellent or praiseworthy – think about such things.
POSITIVE out – Phil. 4:9 — Whatever you have learned or received or heard from me, or seen in me – put it into practice. And the God of peace will be with you.
Matthew 15:11 — What goes into someone’s mouth does not defile them, but what comes out of their mouth, that is what defiles them.
James 3:1-18
