Apart from abiding in Christ, my heart is inclined toward evil and worthless thoughts. When I feed those thoughts, I become much less than God intends: selfish, angry, and trapped in sin. But when I abide in Christ, I feed my spirit and become focused on others, joyful, and free.

I chose the word “pure” because I know that purity of mind is not only a possibility, but it is God’s will for my life.
