My One Word: Confidence
This year was the first year that I had not landed on my word by the end of the year. As I entered into my personal retreat for the year, I tried to focus on the the areas of my life where I wanted to see God affect change in my life. While the word focus was on my mind, a more specific area of focus became clear. I spent some of 2016 leading in our student ministries at Port City Community Church in New Bern. I struggled with feeling an a little underqualified to perform this duty. I know now that God would not give me this position unless he knew that I could do it. I want to bring the confidence to not only that area of my life but to every area of my life whether it be in being a husband, a father, a friend and a coworker. I am thankful for the My One Word process and hope to be challenged as much by my word this year as I have been in the past years. It will help me grow more in my walk with God and I am excited about it.
