My One Word: Forward
2013 was an amazing year of discovery for me. After a very long struggle that started in 2006, I overcame some deep challenges (finishing my degree and losing 60+ pounds were the minor ones). I embraced all sorts of new challenges.
In 2014, I discovered the idea that a single word should replace resolutions so I adopted “continue”. And continue I did. I pushed myself to achieve more emotional, intellectual, social, career, and physical improvements than I thought possible.
My word for 2015 is “forward” and I use it to remind me to always make steady progress, no matter what lies ahead. It doesn’t always mean plow through something, sometimes going around/over/under is a better alternative. To that end, I strive to make today a little better for me and everyone around me than yesterday, and look forward to doing more tomorrow.
