My One Word: Intentional
Disappointments, unmet expectations, and life difficulties over the past several years has caused me to feel defeated, depressed and generally an unhappy person. Recently while spending time in the Bible, God pointed me to James chapter 2 where it tells us that our faith and works must work together. Immediately a lightbulb turned on and I had to confess to God my longstanding passive approach towards using my gifts and abilities in serving Him and others. Sadly I had become complacent in my faith and as the Scripture points out faith without good deeds is a dead faith. The word: Intentional came to me because I have been sitting on the fence waiting for something good to happen way to long. I believe I could be much more intentional in many areas of my life including marriage, family, ministry and my occupation. It won’t be easy to make the necessary changes but with God and the support of others I am hopeful that being more intentional will help me become more confident, enthusiastic and bring back the joy in life.
