My One Word: INTENTIONAL
My wife, Allison, and I are actually sharing a word this year. When really going through the process of thinking and praying about the kind of people we wanted to become this year, God kept leading us back to INTENTIONAL. Oddly enough, this scripture below appeared in the MOW book and inspired us to finally choose this word…
James 1:25 (NIV) “But whoever looks intently into the perfect law that gives freedom, and continues in it—not forgetting what they have heard, but doing it—they will be blessed in what they do.”
Oftentimes, we find ourselves so busy in our routines and the stress of the daily grind that we don’t always deliberately search for God’s truth to guide us. Then even if we do, putting it to action can become a daunting challenge as well. This year, we want to be more INTENTIONAL in our quiet time and reading God’s “perfect law” with purpose and focus. And yes, even journaling which I’ve always resisted. By intently seeking Christ’s plan for us, trusting it over the course of an entire year (and beyond), we hope to see incredible growth in our relationship with Him and thus those around us.
