I have always had trust issues, between friends lying to me and turning their back on me, to failed relationships, to feeling as though God turned His back on me. When I entered Corrections 5 years ago, I immediately stopped trusting humankind. Trust is very easy to lose and not so easy to regain. I lost 2 of my best friends within 3 years and by the age of 26. I lost a lot of trust in God, I felt as though God was turning His back on me, so in turn, I turned my back on God. I went through some VERY dark times. Last year my wife and I were discussing a friend of hers that was giving up on New Years Resolutions and doing this thing called My One Word, so I thought about it and wondered what my one word would be if I chose to do it. So I chose, “change”, it was a very tough word to stick to, but I stuck it out and made a total life change. So now, it is time to start trusting! So, “trust” it is! Trust in God, Trust in friends, and Trust in humanity!
