My One Word: Better
My word for 2018 juxtaposes virtues all throughout the bible. A quick search shows this word appears in the King James Version 115 times. At each time, something a lesson is learned. My word – BETTER. I’ll give you a few examples. 2 Peter 2:21 For it had been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than, after they have known it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered unto them. Hebrews 7:7 And without all contradiction the less is blessed of the better. Ecclesiastes 7:5 It is better to hear the rebuke of the wise, than for a man to hear the song of fools. One more -Proverbs 16:32 He that is slow to anger is better than the mighty; and he that ruleth his spirit than he that taketh a city.
Better means choosing wisdom, obedience, humbleness, peace, grace. Better means walking closer with God and realizing the full anointing that teaches each and every day how to love Jesus-style. Better is not perfect. Better is the true humanness within purposefully choosing to follow God. Better is one day in his court than a thousand elsewhere, and I would much rather be better. As I enter 2018 – I want to be better. As I continue this wonderful journey of my anointing, I want to yield to His teaching and be better. Better at all the things through Him which gives me strength.
