My One Word: CLAY
From: AMcComas
The word clay reminds me of a lot of things. I like that the word appears in both the Old Testament and the New Testament.
It reminds me of my relationship with God – He is the potter, I am the clay. Whew, I’m not in charge – what a relief! Jeremiah 17:4 states, “But the pot he was shaping from the clay was marred in his hands; so the potter formed it into another pot, shaping it as seemed best to him. That is what I am working towards this year – to submit my will – to be formed into a better pot -shaped by Him.
2Co 4:7 reminds me of my human frailty and the wonderful treasure of God’s light.
So, I breathe in the word clay – filling up with willingness and the expelling – breathing out willfulness.
