One of my biggest goals in the new year is to be intentional about growing as a leader – not just at work but in life. There are many wonderful people in my life that I’d like to know better than I do now. I want to be able to help the young people in my life (especially my niece and two nephews). To be able to teach or lead, I have to remember that I must never stop learning and listening. I want to understand the people I care about, so that means that I need to listen to them.

What are they passionate about? The things they talk about will show me their strengths and their dreams.

What do they need? Can I be a blessing to them by meeting that need?

What are their goals? How can I help those around me reach their full potential?

I think listening and asking myself these questions will help me learn to be a better leader. My prayer and focus will be to become a great listener. My One Word is LISTEN.
