Generally, people keep a journal in order to have a record of where they have been and reflect on what they've done. Like a photograph, they take a snapshot of their life, so that in time, they can layout all their pictures and examine how they have grown. Your myoneword.org journal is similar, but instead of reflecting on the general things of life, it is a focused place for you to reflect on one thing only—your one word. Think of it like a digital scrapbook for your one word journey this year!

HOW YOUR WORD JOURNAL WORKS:

The myoneword.org journal is designed to work in concert with our blog to challenge and encourage you to stick with your word this year. Many of the blogs that we post each month will have questions for reflection that you can write about and save directly on the myoneword.org website. But to get started you first need to know how it works…

WHAT WE DO:

• We post a new blog on the myoneword.org website.
• In the blog, we discuss a topic that relates to your word.
• We then create questions that correspond to that topic and post them to your Word Journal as a new homework assignment in your TO DO folder.

WHAT YOU DO:

• After a blog has been posted, log in to your myoneword.org account to see the new assignment in your TO DO folder at the top of your Word Journal.
• Each new assignment has the date it was posted and the name of the blog it was posted to.
• Click on an assignment (date or title) to open that assignment below the folder (New assignments will appear in red).
• At the top of each assignment is an excerpt from the blog it was posted with (and a link to go re-read that blog entry).
• Below the blog excerpt is a list of questions for reflection on the topic.
• Fill out your answer to each question in the corresponding box below.
• If you do not complete the journal and would like to come back to it later, click the SAVE DRAFT button to leave it in your TO DO folder.
• Once you have finished your reflections you can save the assignment to your COMPLETED folder by clicking the COMPLETE JOURNAL button.
• All your journal assignments are available to you at any time.

NOTE: We take your privacy very seriously. Your journal entries are 100% private and cannot be seen by anyone but you.

If you would like to receive an email when a new assignment is posted to your account, go to your profile settings page by clicking the edit profile link in the top of your profile page. Under NOTIFICATIONS check the box labeled "Send me an email when new homework is posted on the myoneword.org blog."
